The event includes a 5km and 7km walk/run,
integrated in the Algarve Regional Calendar for Walking and Running, by IPDJ as
well as a Mini Marathon (10 Kms) and the Algarve Half Marathon (21 Kms).
The objectives of this challenge are to raise
awareness and prevention of cancer, particularly breast cancer, as part of the
international “Pink October” movement as well as to promote a healthy lifestyle
through physical exercise and finally to raise funds for the fight against
cancer and to support cancer patients and their families.
The event programme will include various
activities, highlighting several disease prevention and health promotion
initiatives, such as free health screenings, fitness exercises and
entertainment provided by artist Catarina Cavaco.
Registration is already underway, with a donation
starting at 5€ which includes a kit, which includes a bag/backpack, t-shirt,
cap and flyers (all event items are limited to existing stock).
There are two registration methods available: in
person or online. To register in person, you should go to one of the following
registration points (within the opening hours of each one):
In Faro you can go to the AOA Headquarters which
has event kits available for collection as well as the Forum Algarve
information desk. Alternatively, in Loulé, you can go to Centro Autárquico de
Quarteira (Quarteira Parish Council) which also has event kits available and
Ginásio Artbody.

date of birth and contact number along with proof of payment transfer of the
registration fee.
Participants in the Mamamaratona 22 are eligible to
enter in a competition to be held on October 17. All the registration numbers
for the Walk/Run will be drawn, through the website www.random.org and the winners will be chosen
randomly. The winners will be announced on the AOA's social networks (Instagram
@aoalgarve_oficial and @AOAlgarve on Facebook.
