For most, the place to be is Louletano Desportes Clube. Founded June 6th, 1923, and nearing its centennial birthday, the club has been at the forefront of sport in the area, teaching, and training generations of young athletes to be the best version of themselves.

With success at all levels, this past season saw the U19, U17 and U15 all have success and being promoted from District competition to their respective National leagues.

A true testament to the club’s player development program was the naming of multiple Louletano DC players to the Algarve Selections in the inter Associations tournaments, both male and female, where 2 standouts, Hope Ferreira (aged 11 at the time) and Carolina Dias (aged 13 at the time) both represented their club and region, winning the Silver Division championship whilst only losing one game in qualifying to the eventual and undefeated Gold Division champions, Lisbon.

Although a professional club with former players such as Jorge Soares, Portela and Idalécio also having played for Primeira Ligua clubs such as Benfica, Portimanense and Farense to name a few, and more recently Leonardo Lelo who was named to the Portuguese National U21 team, the club’s focus has always been and will continue to be on developing young athletes and helping them grow, not only as footballers, but as people.

While the senior club plays at the Estádio Algarve, the youth teams train and play on the three municipal fields in Loulé, Estádio Municipal de Loulé, Campo Municiapl nº2 and at Padre Cabanitas school, 3 times a week from 6pm, where kids from all over the Algarve are welcome to join in and give the club a try.
