The announcement was
made by the group, which will no longer have Manuel de Freitas as general
director and will have a direction shared by Clara Capitão, editorial director,
and Pedro Veiga Ferreira, financial, logistics and systems director.
The current PRH Grupo
Editorial Portugal results from the merger, in July 2021, of the companies
20|20 Editora and PRHGE, a union that proved to be “very positive,
consolidating the PRH Grupo Editorial as a reference editorial group in the Portuguese
publishing market”, says the statement.
“We will continue to
pursue the mission of Penguin Random House in Portugal worldwide, which
consists of fostering a passion for reading through the publication of books
that respond to the diversity of tastes and the needs of a plural society”,
states the note.
This publishing group
arrived in Portugal in 2014, following the Iberian acquisition of the
publishing house Santillana, which had been operating in Portugal since 2008 under
the name Editora Objectiva.
