According to a source from the Faro District Relief Operations Command and reported by Notícias ao Minuto, the vehicle involved in the accident was a golf cart and the incident happened around 5:20 pm on 26 November.

After the crash, the emergency services were sent to the scene however the death of the 75 year old Swiss man was declared at the scene.

Also in the buggy there was a Portuguese woman, who was left with minor injuries. The 71-year-old victim was transported by ambulance to Faro Hospital.
