Archaeologists examining
2,000-year-old sewers at the Colosseum in Rome have been able to determine that
figs, grapes, blackberries, walnuts, and cherries were popular snacks for Roman
spectators at events.

the bones of bears and big cats that were probably used in the arena's hunting
games, according to a report by the BBC.
