In a statement, SEF reveals that the man was also wanted for “fraud of forming a criminal association, aiding illegal immigration with lucrative intent and money laundering”.

Investigators arrested on Monday in Lisbon the 40-year-old man “under whom a European arrest warrant, issued by the Greek authorities, was pending”.

The suspect resided in Spain, but was eventually found in Lisbon, "after a lengthy investigation", and will now be presented at the Lisbon Court of Appeal for judicial questioning to apply coercive measures, "which will allow his extradition to the country of origin”.
