So far over 1.5 million signatures have been gathered to ask for a ban, enough to force the European Commission to take a serious look at the initiative according to a report by Trouw. According to NL Times: “Breeding animals for fur has been banned in the Netherlands for two years, but fur can still be imported and sold. In some European countries, breeding for fur is still legal”.
