Quinta do Lago, The Algarve, Announces New Sports Camps at The Campus for 2023

March 2023…// Quinta do Lago, nestled in the heart of the Algarve, is delighted to announce a new lineup of celebrity sports camps for 2023. Professional athletes will be returning to the resort, including the much-loved Irish rugby player, Brian O’Driscoll and renowned football coach, Joe Cole with Football Escapes, to host week-long sports camps throughout the spring and summer months. The resort is welcoming families with children & teens of all age groups to experience golf, dance, tennis and football camps, encouraging them to stay active, perfect existing skills and learn new hobbies - all away from their digital devices. Most camps will take place at Quinta do Lago’s multi-sports hub, The Campus which is one of Europe’s premier sporting destinations for training, recovery and rehabilitation. In this environment, budding young athletes can feel like the pros with camps led by professional players and coaches who are amongst the very best in their field, along with other resident professional trainers who make use of the resort’s expert facilities and world-class weather.

Rugby Camp with Brian O’Driscoll

Quinta do Lago is welcoming back former captain of Ireland and the British and Irish Lions, Brian O’Driscoll, to offer children an unforgettable holiday and the opportunity to train with a top-performing athlete. O’Driscoll is no stranger to the popular sports facility, as this is his 5th time returning to Quinta do Lago to host the training camp. With The Campus having stadium-quality grass, the children will be training with the same quality field and equipment as the pro athletes. This April, O’Driscoll will be coaching children as part of two-hour daily sessions over one week for a memorable experience for little rugby proteges. As part of the training programme, each child will receive a personalised rugby kit to use during their training and to be used post-holiday to show off to their friends at school.

Former rugby captain for Ireland and the British and Irish Lions, Brian O’Driscoll, comments ahead of his Easter camp: “I am really looking forward to returning to Quinta do Lago this year and meeting all of the inspired players. Each year the children have so much fun and play with so much passion and are eager to learn. Soccer Camp with Football Escapes

England International players and football heroes Joe Cole, Joleon Lescott, and Gareth Barry, will be on-site to coach children for a world-class football experience at The Campus during the school holidays this spring and summer. In partnership with Football Escapes, the iconic former football players will be teaching young players all about dribbling to shooting and the dynamic of organised matches. There will be four sessions running throughout spring and summer, which will include three-hour daily sessions over one week. Participants will be provided with a full kit including a shirt, shorts and socks, as well as a medal on completion of the week's course.

Joe Cole, former professional football player and Chelsea coach comments ahead of his June and August camps: “I’m really excited to be heading back to The Campus in Quinta do Lago with Football Escapes. Last summer was a fantastic experience for everyone that was involved – including myself. The kids learn so much, as they work with a really good team of coaches and every day they improve their game and they do so with a big smile on their faces, which is what it is all about. I’m looking to have even more fun out on the pitch this time around.”

Joe Cole’s football camp with Football Escapes are taking place at Quinta do Lago from 3^rd – 7^th April 2023 and 14^th – 18^th August 2023.

Football Escapes Camps are running from the 3rd - 7th April, the 29th May - 2nd June, the 12th-18th August and 21st-25th August with prices from 625 EUR / £550 per week for children aged 5-15 years old.

Dance Camp

Quinta do Lago’s Dance Camp will get kids grooving at The Campus this Easter. Children will have the chance to learn a variety of styles, routines and tricks in a fun and welcoming environment ensuring that even shy dancers put on their dancing shoes and throw a few shapes. At the end of the week and after all of their hard work, little ones will have the opportunity to perform their final routine in a showcase, highlighting their newly learned dance moves for their family and friends to enjoy!

Dance Camp is running from 3rd - 7th April with prices from 250 EUR / £220 per week for children aged 8-12 years old with resident dance coach Dinah Josephs.
