According to information provided by the international website, these flights, which used to run until the end of October, the period that marks the end of the IATA summer, should continue to be operated, since United Airlines is experiencing strong demand.
In addition to the operation to Lisbon, the seasonal flights that United Airlines operates between Washington Dulles and Barcelona, in Spain, and Rome, in Italy, should also be maintained for a few more months.
The Simple Flying website quotes an official from the North American airline, who confirms the information initially provided by Cirium and who says that United Airlines is enthusiastic about the expansion of the operation.
“United is excited to extend its seasonal nonstop service between Washington Dulles and three European destinations: Lisbon, Portugal; Barcelona, Spain and Rome, Italy. Direct service between these cities will now run through December 13, 2023 (originally October 27, 2023),” said Pat Mullane, head of Corporate Communications for United Airlines.
It should be remembered that, in addition to the seasonal operation between the Portuguese capital and Washington Dulles, United Airlines also maintains a year-round operation between New York/Newark and Lisbon.
The airline also offers seasonal connections between Porto and New York/Newark, as well as between Ponta Delgada, in the Azores, and New York/Newark.

Why are you saying people from the USA should stay there and not come to Portugal?
