The value of the support paid did not reach the 235 million euros of total allocation but the Government has decided that subsidies are no longer justified.

"New support is not planned, taking into account the sharp drop in gas prices in recent months", an official source from the Ministry of Economy and the Sea told Público, regarding the possibility of opening new application phases after June 30, when the deadline for the notice in force expires.

The end of support for energy costs is in line with institutions such as the European Central Bank (ECB) and the European Commission, but the industry points out that the crisis is not over and that the withdrawal of aid to European companies could be “premature”.
