The drought situation in several European countries has been a cause for an alert at an international level, even leading the Minister of Agriculture, Maria do Céu Antunes, to ask for support measures in Brussels.

Now an image captured by NASA's Terra satellite gives an idea of the situation in southern Spain and Portugal. In the publication shared by the US space agency, it is possible to see a comparison between the situation in May 2022 and currently in 2023.
The high temperatures that were felt at the beginning of the second quarter of this year were responsible for the current drought, which has turned previously green areas into yellow and brown zones.
