Firefighters, The Royal Dutch Rescue Company and Rederij Noordgat were able to rescue 25 people from a sailing ship off the coast of Vlieland.

The ship, Leafde fan Fryslân, had a leak in the bow. The fire brigade used its own ship to pump water from the three-master, allowing time to evacuate the people on board.
