The Lisbon Metro clarifies that the execution works of the Circular line will not require the closure of the CP - IP station of Cais do Sodré.

These works foresee the diversion of the train lines, as well as the deviation, to the North in relation to Avenida 24 de julho, of the two fast tram lines of Carris.

The metro works will take place between December of this year and February of 2024. The circulation of CP trains on the diverted lines will take place, predictably, in the period from March to July 2024.

Only the union between the diversions to be carried out and the existing lines will entail the abolition of train movements and for a period not exceeding one weekend for each of these routes.

From July 2024 the deviation of the circulation in the diverted lines will end, where the circulation of the lines and definitive routes will be restored.

It should be recalled that the Metropolitano de Lisboa Expansion Plan provides for the extension of Rato station (on the Yellow line) to Cais do Sodré station (on the Green line) with two new stations: Estrela and Santos.
