In a statement, the Regional Directorate of Communist Porto, also stresses the need for “the creation of a public network capable of supplying the lack” of places, arguing that “in practice ” what is happening is “the denial of the right to daycare which should be free for thousands of children and their families”.
The PCP denounced that there are households that “in addition to being forced to resort to private responses” are forced to “resort to illegal care (which they do not want) or who are pushed into remote working”.
"It is not acceptable that workers and families are forced to resort to these situations due to the Government's lack of response to their needs and, especially, to the needs of their children", it reads.
