This Special Event features the presentation of young pianist Luis Miguel TOLDA to the Amigos de Música as their new protégé within their Scholarship Program for Young Portuguese Music students. Luis Miguel is continuing his piano studies at the Conservatory in Den Haag, Holland.
On Tuesday, September 12, 2023 young artist Luis Miguel TOLDA, the new protégé in the Amigos’ Young Portuguese Music Student Scholarship Programme will introduce himself by playing for us the following programme, without interval :
Chopin - Three Nocturnes op. 9
Bach - Prelude and Fugue in D Major, WTC 1
Poulenc - Mouvements Perpétuels
Beethoven - Piano Sonata op. 2, no. 2
Bartók - Allegro Barbaro
Debussy - Prelude "La Cathédrale Engloutie"
On September 26th and 28th, 2023 the Amigos present the Ukrainian pianist ARTEM YASYNSKYY, who was sent to us by well-known pianist and Amigo Piers Lane as one of the winners in his Australian Piano Competition, Sidney. Originally from Donetsk, Artem had moved in 2010 to study in Germany. He has won many international competitions, recorded several CDs and played globally on various continents. He now teaches in Bremen, Germany, and is also professor at the Trieste, Italy Conservatory. We are starting with a bang!
Artem’s program features works by Bach, Brahms, Britten and Prokofiev on Tuesday, and by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and French composer Jehan Alain (1911-1940) on Thursday, including some special surprises….!

Amigos de Música concerts at OS AGOSTOS begin at 7.00pm. Gates open at 6.00pm and wine, fruit juices and canapés will be served. There will be a short interval. Entry donation including refreshments is €30 per person for guests and non-members.

ARTEM YASYNSKYY Biography
Artem Yasynskyy, born in 1988 in Donetsk, Ukraine into a family of classical musicians and gave his first concert when he was eight years old.
A scholarship granted by the Ukrainian Government from 2006 to 2010 enabled him to study at the Prokofiev State Academy of Music graduating in 2010 with Honours.
Artem Yasynskyy moved to Germany in 2010 to continue postgraduate piano studies at the University of the Arts in Bremen. In 2021 he began a professorship of piano there. From November 2022 he also assumed that position at the Conservatory of Trieste, Italy.
Artem Yasynskyy has participated with great success in numerous international competitions and music festivals. In 2015 he was gold medallist at the Cincinnati Piano Competition and prizewinner at the Honens Piano Competition in Calgary, Canada. He won prizes at the Gian Battista Viotti Competition in Vercelli, the Sendai International Music Competition and the Gina Bachauer Competition in Salt Lake City, the Top of The World Competition in Tromsø, Norway, the Horowitz International Piano Competition in Kiev, the Manhattan Music Competition and the First German Competition of Polish Music (Leschetizky Competition).
In 2021 he won the second prize in the Sydney International Piano Competition. He performed at numerous festivals such as the Honens Festival in Calgary, Canada, the Paderewski Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina (USA), the “Bremer Musikfest”, the “Raritäten der Klaviermusik” in Husum, Germany, the “Kiev Musical Summer Evenings Festival”.
Numerous concert appearances have taken him on tour to Canada, USA, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Spain, Greece, Norway, Russia and throughout Germany. He performed in prestigious venues such as the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall (December 2016), the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Hamburg Laeiszhalle, Jack Singer Hall in Calgary, Kyiv Philharmonie, the Sendesaal Bremen.
His first CD was released by the Naxos Grand Piano label in 2015 and features works by Józef Hofmann. His second CD of Sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti was released by the Naxos Label in January 2018. In Autumn 2021 he recorded a CD with pieces by Gabriel und Sergei Prokofiev.
