“For customers who remain in the regulated market (representing 6.4% of total consumption and 947 thousand customers), or who, being in the free market, have opted for an equivalent tariff, the average annual variation in transitional tariffs for Sales to Customers Finals in Low Normal Voltage (BTN) is 1.1%”.

The annual variation presented is relative to the average price for the year 2023, which includes the update of the energy tariff in April 2023, as well as the exceptional tariff setting in July 2023, highlighted ERSE.

“As a result of these changes, from a monthly perspective, in January 2024, customers in the regulated market will register an average increase of 1.9% in relation to the prices in force in December 2023”, he also said.

The regulator highlighted that the average increase of 1.9% in the regulated market, between December 2023 and January 2024, implies that a couple without children (power 3.45 kVA [kilovoltampere], consumption 1,900 kWh/year) will pay on average from January plus 0.61 euros (37.23 euros) and a couple with two children [power 6.9 kVA, consumption 5,000 kWh/year] plus 1.66 euros (94.09 euros) per month.

Consumers with a social tariff “will benefit from a 33.8% discount on the tariffs for Sale to Final Customers, in accordance with the provisions of Order No. 10557/2023, of October 16th”.
