This full-scale emergency exercise is in line with the recommendations of EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency), with regard to carrying out exercises, specifically in the efficient coordination of internal and external resources in relief operations in emergency response.

ANA Aeroportos de Portugal states that “In this exercise, the aid means provided for in the Gago Coutinho - Faro Airport Emergency Plan will be activated, with the expected movement of relief and emergency vehicles, which will circulate with the respective audible and visual emergency signals. Therefore, we inform the community surrounding Gago Coutinho – Faro airport that this movement is due to the operation of a simulacrum”.
