Italy’s state rail company is to open the first route in its “tourist trains” initiative from December, connecting Rome to the famous ski resort of Cortina d’Ampezzo.

With the start of the ski season around the corner, residents of Rome and visitors will soon have an easier way of getting to the famous slopes of one of Italy’s biggest winter sports destinations.
