Speaking to Lusa agency, the president of the Independent Union of Postal Service, Telecommunications, Transport and Express of Portugal (SICTTEXPT), Samuel Vieira, clarified that the strike covers the first two hours of work in postal distribution centres and the last two hours of work at customer services in CTT stores.
The partial general strike follows the "unilateral decision" of the company's management to denounce the Social Works Regulation, by increasing its monthly quota and contributions to medical procedures carried out by health plan beneficiaries, explained Samuel Vieira.
According to the union leader, this plan covers around 35,000 beneficiaries, including permanent workers (including children and spouses) and retirees.
"At a time of great difficulty for all Portuguese workers, as a result of the exponential increase in the cost of living, and through the frankly positive results that the company CTT recently presented, this change is completely unreasonable", he stated.
Service has been so bad lately, I thought they were already on strike.

I have been waiting for a small package from the UK that was sent 20 November. I guess I will have to wait a while longer.
