Among the applications promoted by the Municipality of Loulé, the MED Festival stands out, which appears as a finalist in five categories. They are Best Medium-Sized Festival, Best Tourism Promotion, Best Cultural Programme, Contribution to Sustainability and Best Lusophone and Hispanic Festival.

In each of these categories, MED is a candidate for the final victory, alongside nine other festivals in Portugal and Spain, including Cooljazz, Festival Tomavistas, La Mar de Músicas, Neopop Festival, FMM Sines - Festival Músicas do Mundo, Meo Kalorama, Noches del Botánico, PortAmérica or SON Estrella Galicia Posidonia.

This year Som Riscado – Music and Image Festival continues to appear in the group of the most voted, this time in the category of Best "Electronic Act". The performance of Stereossauro ft. Ana Magalhães in the 2023 edition, which took place in November, made the audience vibrate, drawing the attention of the critics, and deserved the recognition of those who voted to determine the finalists of these Iberian. To win this final, Som Riscado will have to beat other performances by big names in electronics such as The Chemical Brothers (Bilbao BBK Live) or Underworld (Cala Mijas Festival).

In the category of Best Festivity, the municipality of Loulé will have two luxury representatives in the grand finale. On the one hand, the oldest corso in the country, the Loulé Carnival, a parade where political, social and sporting satire and the beauty of the floats attract thousands to the Loulé "Sambadrome"; on the other hand, the pioneering Noite Branca Algarve – Loulé which, since 2007, has conquered the public for the surprise factor of its program, assuming itself as the "official farewell party of the Algarve summer".

It is recalled that on the evening of March 15 the winners of the 8th Iberian Festival Awards will be announced, at a gala that will take place in the Spanish city of Granada.

Promoted by Aporfest – Portuguese Association of Music Festivals, the Iberian Festival Awards aim to recognise the contributions of event promoters and organisers and other players in the festival industry. In this 8th edition, the initiatives carried out between January and December 2023 will be awarded.
