In a publication on its official page, the municipality informs that the avenue will remain closed to car and pedestrian traffic until Friday morning due to the extension of the orange warning for maritime unrest.
Avenida D. Carlos I, in Barra do Douro, has been closed since 8pm on Monday "as a precaution and to safeguard the safety of people and goods".
The worsening of weather conditions in the coming days, with rain and strong wind, sea disturbances and snowfall, led the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) to alert the population to take preventive measures.
