According to the Finance Portal, 494,066 declarations had been submitted during the first 24 hours, the majority (408,857) from taxpayers who last year only had income from dependent employment (category A) and/or pensions (category H).
Declarations from taxpayers with other types of income were around 85,000.
It should be noted that in both cases the numbers include the approximately 40 thousand declarations that had already been submitted this year and which relate to replacement declarations or first deliveries of income relating to previous years – therefore not integrating the current IRS campaign.
In last year's campaign, around 6 million IRS declarations were settled, of which 32.7% were submitted through the Automatic IRS and 67.3% manually.
The deadline for submitting the annual IRS declaration ends on June 30th, with the law determining that settlements must be completed by July 31st and refunds paid by August 31st. The end of August is also the deadline for taxpayers who did not withhold at source or did so in an insufficient amount, to pay the tax determined by the Tax and Customs Authority (AT).
