In a statement, the Navy reveals that the NRP Viana do Castelo was involved in the operation, with the support of the Maritime Operations Center, "which guarantees active and continuous surveillance of areas under national sovereignty or jurisdiction".
"Serving Portugal at sea, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, the Navy will continue to monitor the passage of this type of ships, through permanent monitoring of maritime spaces under national sovereignty or jurisdiction, in order to protect Portugal's interests", according to the Navy.
