Brazilian group Europar, who already own Retail Moita and Retail Évora in Portugal, will convert the former Belcor textile facilities with an investment of 50 million euros that will guarantee 300 jobs. Work has already started and the inauguration is scheduled for the first quarter of next year, according to a report by ECO.

A mixed-use project will be created in the former facilities of the Felgueirense textile company, which will include a retail park with around seven thousand square meters of gross lettable area, a filling station, with various services, and an area destined for housing, with 104 apartments.

The Felgueiras Retail Park will feature a supermarket from the German chain Aldi, a Max Mat, a Rádio Popular, Espaço Casa, and a Fábrica dos Oculos, “with other major brands planned for the remaining spaces, which will be announced soon”, said the Retail Mind Group, responsible for the development, commercialisation, and masterplan of the project.

“It is with great satisfaction that I see this project getting off the ground and starting to take shape. It represents the culmination of more than two years of work, focus, and dedication from an entire team, but also the vision and trust, which we are very grateful for, from investors, partners, and brands who believe in these projects and which in themselves reveal the great dynamics of the current retail market”, says Vitor Rocha, CEO, Retail Mind Group.

In a statement, Retail Mind points out that “the official event to launch the first stone is symbolically scheduled for the 13th of July, the day on which the City of Felgueiras is celebrated”.
