The opening session will be at 6pm on Monday at Rua de Santo António, with the inauguration of Projeto Montra, an intervention of 'design' projects in several stores in the downtown area of the Algarve capital, announced the University of Algarve (UAlg ) in a statement.
The main objective of the Montra project is “to contribute to the promotion and revitalization of the commercial area of Baixa de Faro, through project interventions developed by students of the degree course in Communication Design at the Escola Superior de Educação e Comunicação (ESEC) at UAlg, in terms of the 'design' of the windows of some of the commercial spaces”.
This year, the projects focus on the theme of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of April 25th, with the objective of “reinforcing memory and emphasising the current relevance of these events in the construction and affirmation of democracy”.
On the first day of the event, there will be a visit to Fábrica da Cerveja (ADM's main headquarters), with an inauguration and a visit to the exhibitions, pop-up stores, and lounge space.
Also on Monday, after the official opening of ADM, the highlight is the opening of the exhibition by Maria Cerol - Fotografias Musicadas, at 9:30 pm, at Fábrica da Cerveja.
For a week, institutions, companies, teachers, researchers, professionals, and the general public will be able, according to the organisation, “to get in touch with various projects and talents existing in these sectors of the creative industry, fostering knowledge among different groups in society, through a vast program.”
This program includes a Porsche Test-Design competition, 'talks', exhibitions, yoga classes, mega drawing by Urban Sketchers, 'game jam', DJ, mural painting dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April, workshops, and cinema, among other activities.
