Among those qualified to compete in the final, there are three teams from Lisbon who will fight to win a title approved by the World Boxing Council (WBC).

In this seventh edition of the championship, the Fitboxing World Games become a regular event. After the lights go out at the Mutua Madrid Open tennis tournament, the boxing bags that accompany this sport take over the entire venue.

Lisbon, is among the candidates for world champion

Fitboxing has thrived in gyms around the world not only for its benefits but also for its simplicity adaptation to anyone. With no age limits or gender distinction, this sport combines movements from boxing and other martial arts, focusing solely on punching a bag.

In three rounds of two minutes each, four "fitboxers" have to score the most points against their rival, all under the watchful eye of a series of referees who analyse every detail. Furthermore, each team includes a substitute and a coach who must coordinate and support the movements at all times to keep morale high during the two minutes of combinations.

64 teams from seven countries, who previously won their place in one of the qualification tournaments that started with around 400 teams from Spain, Italy, Argentina, or Portugal, among others, will attend the finals at Caja Mágica.

Random from Odivelas, ThunderGirls from Expo, and Queen of Heart from Areeiro will represent Portugal, seeking to be the new team to lift the world champion trophy.

The solidarity award

Founded in 2016 under the supervision of the Brooklyn Fitboxing gym chain, in this seventh edition this Spanish brand is promoting fitboxing around the world.

The 2024 tournament will feature the largest number of teams from different countries (France, Germany, Italy, Argentina, Portugal, and Russia, in addition to Spain), with its eyes already set on potential markets in Latin America, such as Mexico and Brazil.

With many teams already established over these seven seasons (only interrupted by the pandemic), the title was always in the hands of the Spanish, although Portugal and Italy almost achieved a victory in 2023. In the case of Portugal, with the excellent eighth place conquered by Random.

This title not only brings deserved sporting prestige but also a significant donation to the charitable project chosen by the champion. Up to 10 thousand euros are distributed through these Fitboxing World Games, which in other editions have helped children suffering from cancer or families affected by sarcoma.
