The operation runs until September 15th and will cover vacation spots, events, establishments, and nightlife venues, the main roads, borders, residences, and forest protection.

This operation is repeated every year during the summer, when "an increasing number of tourists is expected in the areas within the guard's territorial responsibility area, thus registering a substantial increase in population", says the GNR in a statement.

"As a result of this, this season is also characterised by a decrease in the population in areas of habitual residence, which means that some homes remain uninhabited for prolonged periods of time, which is why it is important to prevent the occurrence of associated crime", highlights the guard.

In the note, the GNR indicates that it will commit several reinforcement activities to coordinated awareness-raising, patrolling, and inspection actions, paying special attention to surveillance on the coastline, also considering beaches and places close to the coast.

The GNR will also intensify patrolling around nightlife establishments and those with larger crowds of people, as well as guaranteeing the safety of events, parties, and seasonal pilgrimages, reinforcing actions to support, regularise and monitor road traffic.
