The program involves the universities Nova de Lisboa, Évora, Algarve, Madeira, Azores, and Egas Moniz and begins in September.
‘Digital Sul + Ilhas’ is the consortium that will develop the initiative, presented as pioneering and designed for “an increasingly digital job market”, with support of 2,393,855 euros from the PRR.
The main objective is to “offer comprehensive training in Audiovisuals and Media Production, IT, IT Sciences, Electronics, and Automation”, according to the consortium.
Training modules include Digital Literacy, Computational Thinking, Programming, Digital Media, Communication and Multimedia Design, Cybersecurity and Privacy, Data Science and Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Manufacturing.
The consortium also offers a postgraduate course, with mandatory basic training in Digital Information Literacy, Digital Content Creation, and Digital Communication and Citizenship.
Students can also choose Curricular Units in Security and Privacy and Technology-Based Solutions.
“This project also supports the ecological and digital transition pillars of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), and promotes gender equality, opportunities and non-discrimination”, according to the same source.
