Oliver, 39 years old and international referee since 2012, will have as assistants fellow Englishmen Stuart Burt and Dan Cook, while the video referee (VAR) will be Dutchman Pol van Boekel, assisted by David Coote and Tomasz Kwiatkowski.

This will be the fourth game that Michael Oliver will referee at the European Championship, which takes place in Germany, after having been at Spain-Croatia (3-0) and Slovakia-Ukraine (1-2), in the group stage, and at Germany- Denmark (2-0), in the round of 16.

Portugal reached the quarters after eliminating Slovenia in a penalty shoot-out (3-0, after 0-0 at the end of extra time), while France defeated Belgium (1-0).

Friday's game between Portugal and France is scheduled for the Volksparkstadion, in Hamburg, at 21:00 local time (20:00 in Lisbon).
