The event, which this year will take place on the first and last weekend of August, will take place at the Manuel Bivar Garden Bandstand and will focus on fado singers and musicians, with a greater focus on Faro residents, to whom one of the nights will be dedicated.

Fado from Coimbra will be at the festival for the first time with the presence of former students from the university city who formed the group “In Versus” in Faro.

The festival will close with the “AL Mouraria” group, which is now celebrating its 21st anniversary.

The 3rd edition of the Faro Fado Festival is organised by the Algarve Fado Association and is part of the “Summer in Faro” entertainment programme.

This entertainment programme is a partnership between the Municipality of Faro, the Algarve Trade and Services Association (ACRAL), the Baixa Trade Association (ADCZHF), the Algarve Hotel and Similar Industries Association (AIHSA) and the Baixa de Faro Cultural and Activist Association (ACABF).
