According to the Animal Ombudsman of the Municipality of Almada, the animal "has been in a sanctuary for some time, with several animals that have escaped from less pleasant situations, and is adapting very well".
"She has been alone, but is already having controlled contact with some of the other animals in the sanctuary".
According to the same entity, Skippy will continue to have veterinary medical care and dedicated caregivers in "constant contact".
At the sanctuary, and due to Skippy's "more humanised characteristics", the animal is considered to be in a middle ground, "between freedom, independence and contact", and "supervision by humans who know how to deal with situations".
The rescue operation was launched after the alert was given by several residents who saw the animal in Aroeira, in the municipality of Almada, district of Setúbal.
