The atmospheric conditions expected for the last week of August "are caused by an anticyclonic ridge located to the west or southwest of the Azores, which from the middle of the week could move to the region between the Azores and Madeira", explained the IPMA, in a statement.

This will mean the average air temperature "will be slightly above normal for the season, especially in inland regions".

As for the maximum temperature, it should vary between 18 and 38°C, and is expected to be "higher in the Tagus Valley and inland Alentejo", while the minimum will be between 10 and 22°C.
