Organized by Benfazer – Associação para o Bem-Estar Social, Ambiental e Animal, in collaboration with Loulé City Council, FAVA is the largest ‘plant-based’ fair in Portugal and a unique event in the region. Since its creation in 2018, it has been a space for meeting, reflection and celebration, promoting “a more conscious, sustainable and compassionate lifestyle”.
This year, FAVA surprises once again with a diverse offering that includes more than 100 exhibitors in areas as varied as ecological construction, sustainable fashion, natural cosmetics, artisanal jewelry, green mobility, vegetarian food, holistic therapies, ethical tattoos and much more. All exhibitors share a commitment to presenting products and services that respect the environment and animals.
The 2024 edition will also feature new initiatives, such as exhibitions dedicated to the impact of fast fashion and electronic waste and the “Repair Café Algarve” event, where visitors can learn how to repair their own broken objects with the help of volunteer repairers.
FAVA offers a diverse programme with 50 shows and activities, all free of charge. Visitors will be able to watch theatre plays, street circus, dance and music shows, participate in lectures on topics such as nutrition, zero waste and ecological construction, and also enjoy cooking, fitness, capoeira, yoga, DIY and upcycling classes.
In addition, there will be permanent activities such as massages, a clothing, accessories and book exchange market, challenges and prize draws every 60 minutes, providing a dynamic and interactive experience for everyone.
The food court is home to 15 restaurants, where visitors can try typical and international dishes, all 100% plant-based. The cooking classes also end with a tasting, demystifying myths and proving that plant-based eating can be delicious, healthy and creative.
