According to the tourism activity statistics from the National Statistics Institute (INE), the increases recorded in July compare with the increases of 6.8% in guests and 5.0% in overnight stays observed in June.

The year-on-year growth in the number of guests reflects opposite variations between residents in Portugal and those living abroad, with the data revealing that in July the former fell by 3.4% while the latter rose by 4.6%.

In June, both guests residing in Portugal and those residing abroad showed year-on-year growth (6.8% and 6.7%, respectively).
