As the AARO director, Dr. Kosloski will head DoD's efforts, in coordination with the Intelligence Community, to minimise technical and intelligence surprise by synchronising scientific and operational detection, identification, attribution, and mitigation of unidentified anomalous phenomena in the vicinity of national security areas.

The community expects Kosloski to bring a new perspective to the organisation, considering his background as a scientist at the National Security Agency (NSA).
