Vilamoura is once again included in this ranking of marinas, which stand out for welcoming highly demanding customers who expect the highest levels of quality in terms of facilities, infrastructure, sustainability and service.

To obtain these distinctions, it was necessary to ensure differentiating principles.

To award the winner of the International Superyacht Marina of the Year award, criteria such as the quality of customer service and also of facilities for large vessels, such as fuelling points, security, parking, maintenance spaces and social areas, were assessed. On the other hand, to win the International Sustainable Marina of the Year award, the most relevant criteria include minimising environmental impact, waste treatment, energy efficiency and use of renewable energy; marine conservation; environmental certifications; sustainability initiatives and involvement with the local community.

Between 2015 and 2017, Vilamoura Marina was ranked, among all marinas classified with 5 Anchors, the best international marina of the year and, for being awarded for three consecutive years, in 2017 it was awarded the respective distinction: “International Marina of Distinction 2015-2017”.

In 2019, it was again distinguished with the award for Best International Marina of the Year and named as the Best in the World in 2021. More recently, in September 2022, it was elected Best International Marina at the Southampton International Boat Show.
