According to the first report on the 2024/2025 seasonal vaccination, of the 23,434 vaccines against Covid-19, 18,923 were administered in pharmacies and 4,511 in National Health Service (SNS) facilities, while in relation to the flu, 27,416 users received the serum in pharmacies and 6,724 in health centres.
A total of 22,711 people over the age of 60 were vaccinated against Covid-19, 10,221 of whom were between 70 and 79 years old, 7,493 between 60 and 69 years old, 3,397 between 80 and 84 years old and 1,600 over 85 years old.
In the case of flu, 31,911 people over the age of 60 received the vaccine, 14,194 of whom were between 70 and 79 years old, 10,998 between 60 and 69 years old, 4,616 between 80 and 84 years old and 2,103 over 85 years old.
The seasonal vaccination campaign began on the 20th, with almost five million vaccines against flu and Covid-19 to be administered.
This year, 25 more pharmacies joined, totaling 2,519, which will work in conjunction with health centres, administering vaccines to patients aged between 60 and 84 and their healthcare professionals.
In the 2024/2025 campaign, the booster dose of the flu vaccination will be extended to people aged 85 and over, in addition to people living in nursing homes, similar establishments and the National Network of Integrated Continuing Care (RNCCI).
The Government will spend 7.6 million euros on vaccinations against Covid-19 and flu in pharmacies and aims to have more people vaccinated by the end of November than in 2023.
