Until 6 October, hundreds of people will head to Sagres to discover the region's nature and, in particular, the autumn migration of birds.
In this 15th edition, the Festival's program includes more than 270 activities, many of them free, from boat trips to observe birds, dolphins, caves and cliffs, to photography, painting and illustration workshops, as well as kayaking, cycling and walking tours, without forgetting games and challenges for the youngest ones. The program is available online at www.birdwatchingsagres.com, and although some activities are already sold out, there is still plenty to choose from.
To participate, simply go to Forte do Beliche, in Sagres, sign up for the desired activities and get a participant wristband that, in addition to entry to the activities, entitles you to free entry to the Sagres Fortress and the Vila do Bispo Museum—Celeiro da História, as well as discounts at partner restaurants and accommodation.
Taking place all over the Sagres peninsula, the Birdwatching & Nature Activities Festival program also invites participants to discover the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park.
The event, organised by Vila do Bispo City Council, in partnership with the Portuguese Society for the Study of Birds (SPEA) and the Almargem Association, is sponsored by the Sousa Cintra Foundation, Nadara and Intermarché de Sagres.
