According to a statement from the IPMA says that the cold frontal surface is associated with depression Bert, a name given by the Irish Meteorological Service, is set to arrive in Portugal.
From Saturday, IPMA forecasts point to an increase in maritime agitation, with waves between 2 and 3.5 meters and on Sunday between 3 and 4.5 meters.
The cold frontal surface, which will cross the national territory between the end of Sunday and Monday morning, will cause an increase in wind intensity, with gusts that could reach between 70 and 80 kilometers on the north and central coast and 90 and 100 kilometers in the highlands.
Heavy rainfall is also expected between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning, especially in Minho and mountainous regions.
“It is advisable to monitor the weather situation and warnings over the next few days”, warns the IPMA.
