The project, which will double the current operation of TRMK Aeronautics in the city, represents a private investment of €1.3 million.
The future hangar will allow the simultaneous maintenance of two Falcon jet aircraft and the execution of six projects per year, TRMK Aeronautics, a partner of the international giant Dassault Aviation Business Services (DABS), said in a statement sent to Lusa agency.
TRMK Aeronautics began the partnership with DABS at the beginning of 2024, in a hangar registered between Castelo Branco City Hall and the city's Aeroclube, to carry out maintenance on aircraft produced by Dassault Aviation itself.
The company said, in the same note, that the new warehouse will translate into “an increase in the presence of specialised DABS teams in Castelo Branco, the need for staff by TRMK Aeronautics and new training opportunities for students on the Engineering course Aeronautics.”
“In choosing Castelo Branco, the geographical centrality in terms of the Iberian Peninsula, the excellent accessibility, the installed capacity of the aerodrome and the opportunity to contribute to the development of the aeronautical sector in the territory weighed”, added TRMK.
The laying of the cornerstone of the new hangar is scheduled for Tuesday, at 11am, at the Castelo Branco Municipal Aerodrome.
