The Mayor of Lagoa, Luís Encarnação, reacted to this result with pride for the behaviour of his citizens, to whom he says he owes the relative control of the pandemic situation in the municipality. “We are on the right track, but it is still necessary not to lower our guard. In this festive period, we must continue to be aware and responsible”, said.
The mayor of Lagoa reinforced, however, the call for the Christmas and New Year celebrations to be held with respect for the recommendations of the responsible authorities, namely the General Directorate of Health (DGS). "For this reason, we are invited to extend the state of emergency decreed by the President of the Republic, throughout the continental territory, in the period between 00:00 am on 24 December 2020 and 11:59 pm on 7 January," said Luís Encarnação.
The country’s municipalities are grouped into four levels of epidemiological risk: moderate, high, very high and extremely high risk, the municipality of Lagoa was integrated for about a month, at the level high epidemiological risk.
