In a statement, SEF said that checks on 1,737 UK nationals had taken place "without any constraints on border control".
The airport with the highest flow of British passengers was Faro with 688 passengers, followed by Lisbon (629), Madeira (240), Porto (177) and Tires (3), SEF said.
SEF points out that there is currently legislation in force authorising air traffic to and from Portugal for all flights to and from countries outside the European Union or countries associated with the Schengen area, such as the United Kingdom, exclusively for essential journeys (for professional reasons, study, family reunion, health or humanitarian reasons) or to allow nationals of third countries, including the United Kingdom, legally resident in Portugal, to enter or leave Portugal

This report is not TRUE , smoothly you having a laugh and Wil it's not holiday makers at all you were not allowed to board a aircraft unless you had your residents papers with you,so get your facts right.
Also why dont they produce how many tested positive if they know the numbers they say went SMOOTHLY via the airports maybe one or two that's why .

As a uk national resident in Portugal I flew in 4th January. I am Portuguese resident. My COVID-19 test was checked twice. The second was at passport control As opposed to previous automated gate system I joined the queue for manual clearance. Each passenger took 3 or 4 minutes so for me passport control took 30 minutes. By the time I got to baggage carousel the Manchester flight I was on was no longer being displayed. Normally I clear Lisbon airport in 5 to 10 minutes this time took an hour. If tourists are to return the process needs to be streamlined. It doesn’t appear scalable as is. Staff were as ever pleasant and helpful

My husband and I flew to Faro on 19th December, we fully expected to have a temperature check and also to hand over our passenger locator forms, no-one asked for the forms and no temperature checks were done!On our return to Glasgow on the 22nd December the only thing the border control was interested in was what they were having for their xmas dinner..no-one asked for our UK forms either.
