The Portuguese team, coached by Fernando Santos, will play against the Turkish team, scheduled for March 24, 2022 and marks the return of the Portuguese team to FC Porto's home, since the last game against Croatia (4-1), on September 5, 2020, in the League of Nations group stage.
If they beat Turkey, Portugal will move forward in the play offs, facing also at Estádio do Dragão, in a match scheduled for March 29, 2022, the winner of the clash between Italy, European champions, and North Macedonia.
The 2022 World Cup will be played in Qatar between 21st November and 18th December of next year.
With a capacity of around 50,000 spectators, Estádio do Dragão also hosted the 2020/21 Champions League final, won by Chelsea against Manchester City, by 1-0.
