According to a source from the Faro command of the GNR, the young man's body was found early this morning inside a well. On Thursday, his vehicle was located "locked and parked" in a field in Messines, in the municipality of Silves.
According to the same source, “there is no evidence of crime” in the death of the young man, who was reported missing in Paderne, Albufeira, on 17 March.
Searches began shortly after the alert of his disappearance and the authorities ended up focusing their work in the Messines area, as they were able to detect the location of the victim's mobile phone in that area.
After locating the car in which the young man was being transported on Thursday, the search was resumed this morning by firefighters and GNR officers, supported by search dogs, who located the body inside a well.
The young man's corpse was found along with his dog, added the same source.
At 11:00 am, 44 workers of the security forces and Civil Protection were at the spot, supported by 15 vehicles. There is also a psychologist from the Albufeira City Council on site.
Not surprising someone else has died in a well. There are too many not properly fenced or hidden from full view. How many kids have also drowned over the years?
