The wine list from The One has been recognised with an
Award of Excellence by the North American magazine, placing it upon a list of
3,200 restaurants that span 70 countries and includes only seven from Portugal.
The Wine Spectator awards recognise and distinguish wine
lists for the variety and quality of presented suggestions, for the harmony
between the wine selection and the menu, and also for the quality-price ratio.
Excellence Award winning restaurants offer at least 90 wines
to be able to satisfy the most demanding of wine connoisseurs.
Francisco Meira, sommelier at The One, said: “It is a
privilege to receive this prestigious international award, which recognises the
quality of the wine selection that we present daily to our customers.
“Our menu focuses on Portuguese wines and in particular,
those from the Algarve, as part of a diverse selection of wines, from the most
classic to the most recent from producers. Altogether, we have approximately 160
national and international wines, with an excellent quality-price ratio and
working in perfect harmony with Executive Chef Bruno Augusto’s menu”, added the
sommelier.
In addition to the different proposals to accompany the
menu, the wine experience also includes special tasting menus with wine pairings
and special tastings with national and regional producers.
The flavours of The One Restaurant's menu are also inspired
by the Algarve and the region's traditional products, maintaining their
authenticity and respecting seasonality.
The One Restaurant is open daily for dinner, between 19:00
and 22:00.
