Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa said that the evolution of prices
must be “very carefully monitored” in the coming months: “If it is going to
keep going up, or if it goes down slightly, as the latest numbers seem to show,
or if it drops closer to the end of the year”.
However, “until then, families and companies suffer”, he
continued, in statements to journalists broadcast by CNN Portugal.
In this sense, it is necessary to know what measures Europe
and Portugal will adopt “to face this situation in the coming months”.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa said that it is necessary “to know
when this will appear, now in September, before the State Budget for 2023”,
because “there are measures that are very urgent and other measures that have
to be foreseen for the coming year".
In the case of Portugal, the Government should approve a set
of support for family income and business activity because of the impact of
inflation on Monday, which reached 9% in August.
Yet more talk and no action and so it goes on .

The most urgent, concrete, realistic and effective measure to combate the current huge inflation and improve the wellbeing of all of us would be to remove all sanctions and normalize relations with Russia that Western leadership has unilaterally imposed on a country that used to be one of the main providers of raw materials, food and energy to Europe and the World! Unfortunately and instead, most of our "leaders" have been consciously misleading us by supporting and maintaining and highly corrupt and extreme right regime which has been since 2014 the cause of most of the current problems! The above is true and for many very hard to swallow but it has being proven to be the truth as the time goes by!
