The IPMA also placed several municipalities of the districts of Bragança, Vila Real, Viseu, Guarda, Coimbra, Leiria, Castelo Branco, Santarém, Portalegre and Faro at very high danger of rural fire.
The fire risk, determined by IPMA, has five levels, ranging from low to maximum, and the calculations are obtained from the air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.
In addition, the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto and Vila Real are today under yellow warning due to the forecast of persistent rain, which may be sometimes strong. According to IPMA, the yellow warning will be in force until 12:00 today.
The minimum temperatures will range between 10 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 17 (in Coimbra) and maximum between 20 (in Viana do Castelo) and 29 (in Santarem).
The yellow warning is issued by IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
