According
to JN, the number of drivers fined this year (5,113) is a record for the last
five years and most drivers are alerted by the authorities that the document
has expired, since there were changes to the legislation in 2008 and 2012, but
the document has not changed.
The
confusion in the deadlines, since the document has one validity, but the law
points out another, has led to the increase in fines. The fines range between
120 and 600 euros.
According
to the Mobility and Transport Institute, quoted by JN, last year, more than
44,000 people aged 50 did not renew their license when they should have done
so, which means that they may be driving with an expired license.
