“It is a very positive balance, but it does not mean the
eradication of the virus, so vigilance will be maintained”, says the Ministry
of Health in a statement that marks the six months of response to the Monkeypox
outbreak in Portugal, which has accounted for 948 cases to date.
Despite the low circulation of the virus today, health
authorities "strongly recommend the vaccination of people at risk",
remembering that the vaccine remains with a prior appointment, subject to
compliance with eligibility criteria.
