It was announced with a base value of €15 million, but ended
up being bought for much less: €8.35 million.
According to Jornal de Negócios, the final offer was below
the established minimum value, which was set at 12.75 million euros, so the
property will not, for the time being, be sold, and may be evaluated.
The property has been a Monument of Public Interest
since 2013. The convent is a Benedictine monastery from the 11th century, which
was rebuilt in the 17th and 18th centuries and later adapted into a hotel.
